Shamcey Gurrea Supsup from General Santos City, Philippines was born on May 16, 1986. Shamcey graduated as magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines-Diliman with a degree in Architecture. She also topped the June 2010 Architecture Licensure Examination in July 2010. A beauty and brain indeed! Bravo Shamcey!
Shamcey was voted Top 1 in the Lux online voting for Fans Favorite all over the world. Her very interesting question and answer portion from the pageant from one of the judges – Ms. Vivica A. Fox:
Vivica: “Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person that you love?”
Shamcey: “If I had to change my religious beliefs, I would not marry the person that I love because the first person that I love is God who created me and I have my faith and my principles and this is what makes me who I am. And if that person loves me, he should love my God too.”
If you were Shamcey, What will be your best answer?
My opinionated answer: Marriage is a ceremony of Love of 2 person being bonded by Law and God, Religion is a culture and belief of Faith. It is true that the latter create boundaries and war but the irony is all religion promotes Peace. If I have to choose I would rather choose Love and Peace, as a universal law of God. Yes, I am very willing to shift. World Peace! and For God is Love!
Shamcey was the only Finalist without any English interpreter and quickly answered the question based on what she truly believes. She may not won the crown, but she won the hearts of millions of people who believes in God and true to their faith! Salute to you Ms. Shamcey!
