My Experience:

This is my first visit to Caleruega, and I never thought that the beauty of nature and serenity of this place is really overwhelming than seeing it in pictures. No wonder why most marrying couples chose it as their top list for their dream wedding location. The place is so wonderful and very relaxing, the field of greens and the wind blows will lift your senses to a stress free surrounding. For a while, I felt the oneness in nature and closeness to a very peaceful heaven.

I also remember friends who tie their knots on this place and a special someone I knew long time ago who made her vows on this beautiful chapel. I wish her luck and best wishes 🙂

I would say, its worth the travel time to experience Caleruega.

Anyway, I summarized all the information you may be needing in this post.

My life best shots,
Rman

About Caleruega:

Caleruega is a house of prayer and renewal. It is open to activities like retreats, recollections, prayer, and renewal workshop, study, research, youth camps, marriage and family encounter celebrations, skills training, leadership seminars, art, music, and liturgy workshops, and environment and agriculture-related activities.

The Transfiguration Chapel:

Rising tall and majestic in the highest point of Caleruega is the Transfiguration Chapel. From here one can behold the expanse of Caleruega and witness the glorious opus of radiant nature – a symphony of sky, trees, and the distant hills of Batulao. Like St. Peter during Jesus’ transfiguration, anyone who experiences such splendor of nature’s poetry will declare: Lord, it is good for us to be here… (Mt.17:4).

The chapel itself is replete with symbolism. Its façade is a reproduction of the original chapel in Caleruega, Spain. Its hut-shaped roof is in remembrance of the temporary sheds that the apostles wanted to build for Jesus, Moses, and Elijah during the transfiguration (Mt 17:1-8). The seal of the Dominican Province of the Philippines is depicted in stained glass in the upper portion of the chapel’s façade. The seven grapevines entwined in the steel doors of the chapel not only portray Jesus as the vine and we as branches (John 15:5), but also symbolize the seven sacraments. The main altar is a carved tree trunk representing the “stem of Jesse,” mentioned in the Book of the Prophet Isaiah: then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit (Is 11:1). The tabernacle is a gentle reminder of the burning bush through which God revealed Himself to Moses in Mt. Sinai (Ex 3:2). The birds carved on the communion table are representations of God’s providence in Matthew 6:26: Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, neither do they reap…and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. The stained glass depicts the Transfiguration of Jesus witnessed by Peter, John, and Luke. With Jesus are Moses and Elijah, two significant instruments of God in the Old Testament (Mat 17:3).

The Color:

Lilac is a color that is a pale shade of violet. It might also be described as light purple.

The Meaning and Symbolism:

The story of lilac, according to Greek mythology, begins with a beautiful nymph named Syringa (lilac’s botanical name). Captivated by her beauty, Pan, the god of the forests and fields, chased Syringa through the forest. Frightened by Pan’s affections, Syringa escaped him by turning herself into an aromatic bush – the flower we now refer to as lilac.

The 8th wedding anniversary flower and the state flower of New Hampshire (symbolizing the hardy character of the Granite State’s citizens), lilacs are frequently considered a harbinger of spring, with the time of their bloom signaling whether spring will be early or late. In the language of flowers, purple lilacs symbolize the first emotions of love, while white lilacs represent youthful innocence.

My Divine Comedy

My Divine Comedy

December 18, 2009
Papaya Grille, Timog Avenue
Quezon City

This is my first time to write about my team at work. Not because I am out of ideas and photos to share, but I find this event as one of the best team gathering for the last 10 years of my professional career.

Last April 2009, I was given a challenge on how to maintain a team without a record of attrition and uplift their morale in spite of a non-monetary reward. And since I am fond of challenges, I humbly accepted it. Not because I believe in the supremacy of our so called human resources alien expert but I know for a fact that this person’s human intellectual is limited to positively be creative about Filipinos work devotions, and always on the game of index withholding’s, and for the last 5 years seeing this- as per policy, as per best practice, as per industry survey, which becoming like a chant of unbelievable decision-making, which develops into a high supremacy and hierarchal tactics of autocracy. The unprofound substance and disparaging styles. Thus, my Divine Comedy Canto’s begins, and Lady Gaga’s Poker Face shines! How I wish I am Percy Jackson to fire a powerful lightning volt and hit this Dark Hades Head! and have Persephone’s assistance to awaken the Godly thinking. Nonetheless, magical justice never happens only in the movies. I may not achieved the cash benefits, and had suffer some cut backs to support my love ones unto their grave. But there are something which I will carry on and imparted to this team- a common team spirit, not to survive but to lead others, support each other, and discover oneself. I am no perfect, that in spite of the painful mis judgement, I have tried to balance what is right, not for my sake but for the fate of others. Truly, its a momentum to be productive positively and create an aura of goodness, I believe in the great power of One God, it helps me most of the time, it’s my faith and my religion, and the power of “to believe”. It’s a spirit that will keep on burning.

To continue – this photos will always reminds me of how small things and laughters are indeed the best one. It’s not the costly parties and expensive gifts. It’s not even the competition and winning the prize, or even just having fun. It’s all about the happiness and genuine smile, the sense of belongingness and respect to individuality, not to withhold but to share, not to attack but to support. There could be another new series of chants from Hades and hit songs by Lady Gaga, but I strongly believe that the “spirit” code is unbreakable – the power of unforeseen.

“Behold now the high providence divine;
For one and other aspect of the Faith
In equal measure shall this garden fill.

And know that downward from that rank which cleaves
Midway the sequence of the two divisions,
Not by their proper merit are they seated;

But by another’s under fixed conditions;
For these are spirits one and all assoiled
Before they any true election had.

Well canst thou recognise it in their faces,
And also in their voices puerile,
If thou regard them well and hearken to them.

Now doubtest thou, and doubting thou art silent
But I will loosen for thee the strong bond
In which thy subtile fancies hold thee fast.”

(excerpts from Divine Comedy: Paradiso: Canto XXXII)

About Joyce:

Occupation: Business Specialist

Christmas Message:

Christmas for me is an opportunity for everyone to bring out the child in us. A child who is eager to open a gift and genuinely smile to whatever the box contains. A child who stare innocently beside the christmas tree and enjoys how the light flickers. A child, who looks at other kids as their true friends and share their happiness without expecting anything in return. I hope we all have a heart of a child this Christmas, and all the days of year. This is the only way we could avoid conflict and can genuinely say, Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!

Personal Style Guide:

I chose a more vintage look this Christmas to go back to the days where fashion and style looks more sophisticated and regal. This is where I can celebrate my mom or Grandma’s era and thank them for the generation they have handed down on me.

A Classic Black and White Dress may be the best way to express yourself in any way. Consider it as a blank canvass where you mix other bright colors of your choice. You can have a black and white get up and shoot in some colorful accent like belts, brooche and shawl or scarf.

The White Color:

White is the color of purity. Brides wear white in many countries, because white symbolizes a virgin. White means kindness. In some cultures white is worn at funerals. White is Monday’s color. White daisies are a symbol of loyal love.

Strictly speaking, white is not a color, but the manifestation of the presence of all color – the complete energy of light. It stands for wholeness and completion. In many cultures it represents openness and truth. White has a cold quality. It can provide clarity as its energy is complete.

White has purification vibrations and can be used to clear blocks from your path.

It holds the potential to move toward every other color and this makes it a good choice for new beginnings, and development in any direction.

Put some white in your life to:

-Aids mental clarity
-Encourages us to clear clutter or obstacles
-Evokes purification of thoughts or actions
-Enables fresh beginnings

Christmas 2009 Message:

Christmas comes without ribbons, tags, packages or boxes. But rather, it comes throughout the year with sweet friendship, mended broken relationships, bonded family, hope reborn, forgiveness and peace from within.

This Christmas — values not value; presence not presents.

Personal Style Guide for Christmas:

The glamour of Christmas parties keeps most of us excited. Some would prefer the sparkles while others go for their old tacky sweater. I, on the other hand, would always settle for the classic, elegant yet comfortable style.

The Green Color:

Green is the color of nature, fertility, life. Grass green is the most restful color. Green symbolizes self-respect and well being. Green is the color of balance. It also means learning, growth and harmony. Green is a safe color, if you don’t know what color to use anywhere use green.

Green is favored by well balanced people. Green symbolizes the master healer and the life force. It often symbolizes money. It was believed green was healing for the eyes. Egyptians wore green eyeliner. Green eyeshades are still used. You should eat raw green foods for good health. Friday is the day of green. Green jade is a sacred stone of Asia.

Green Energy

Green contains the powerful energies of nature, growth, desire to expand or increase. Balance and a sense of order are found in the color green. Change and transformation is necessary for growth, and so this ability to sustain changes is also a part of the energy of green.

Put some green in your life when you want:

a new state of balance
feel a need for change or growth
freedom to pursue new ideas
protection from fears and anxieties connected with the demands of others

The Color Equivalent Gemstone: Peridot

A tiny island known as Zabargard (owned by Egypt) is documented as the first source of peridot, dating back as far as four thousand years. Early Crusaders who visited St. John’s Island (now called Zabargard) introduced this gem to Europe upon return from battle.

Peridot is mentioned in many ancient references as chrysolite. It is mentioned throughout the Bible, and early Christians considered it sacred. Today still, Catholic Bishops traditionally wear a ring of peridot and amethyst as a symbol of purity and morality.

The peridot was believed to be a stone of springtime by ancients who considered it a gift from Mother Nature. Napoleon once made a gift of peridot to Josephine as a symbol of undying love and admiration. In ancient times, it was said that a dream about peridot foretold impending danger.

Healing qualities of peridot
Peridot is a stone of lightness and beauty. Only spiritual or clear-minded persons should use peridot. The person with too many earthly problems will not be able to understand the beauty of the Peridot. The very spiritual can wear peridot in a necklace with the stone at the base of the throat to feel its soothing effect. Used in a necklace, peridot is a protector against negative emotions.

Peridot has been known to have healing effect on the gall bladder and liver.

Sources of peridot
Peridot is a gem variety from the olivine mineral group. The bottle green color is called peridot. Yellowish green is chrysolite. Olive green is olivine. Sources of peridot include: St. John’s Island (Egypt), United States (Arizona and Hawaii), Myanmar, Burma, Australia, Norway, South Africa and Brazil.

Christmas 2009 Message:

Celebrate Christmas with Joys in our heart! It’s time to forgive and a time to give love! It’s Christmas Time, so let the abundance of sharing and merry fill each home.

Personal Style Guide for Christmas:

Christmas is a family time and a celebration of happiness and peace. Proper attire on the moods and the theme fits best for me to be classic and classy. Confidence is what matters and not the brand that just hiding behind my dress. It is my innate style that should be noticed.

The Color Aquamarine:

Aquamarines are found in a range of blue shades, from the palest pastel to greenish-blue to a deep blue. While the choice of color is largely a matter of taste, the deeper blue gems are more rare. Aquamarine is a pastel gemstone, and while color can be quite intense in larger gemstones, the smaller Aquamarines are often less vivid.

The word Aquamarine is derived from the Latin words “aqua marina” which means “sea water” reflecting the color of the crystals. A transparent, pale green variety of beryl, is often used as a gemstone.

The color is due to trace amounts of iron impurities in the beryl structure.

Christmas Message: Christmas is an ideal time to express love and good wishes to those we care. It’s also the best time to contemplate and think about our future. May everyone be happy and find love this season.

Style Guide for Christmas: My usual fashion always depends on the mood and what type of character I‘d like to portray. It may be seductive, classic chic, conservative, sporty or just getting the job done, but it will never be a complete fashion without the accessory of expensive footwear!

The Color Magenta:

MAGENTA: Nonconformists, innovated, strong-willed, inventive, imaginative, artistic, resourceful, productive, creative and has an agile mind.
Magenta’s are bright and determined about things they regard as important. They are great manipulators as well as actors. Magenta’s tap dance to their own tune!

Additional Facts: The term magenta was coined from a plant that provides a dye called fushina, discovered after the Battle of Magenta in Italy. There are several shades of magenta, all referred to commonly as magenta. Magenta is an extra-spectral color, which means it cannot be created by one wavelength of light. It is made up of red and blue wavelengths, called as red-purple in the Munsell Color System. Owing to its distinct base of two aggressive colors, magenta emerges significantly differently on canvass, in print, and on computer screen.

At the expressive level, used in artistry, where magenta is less aggressive and more spiritual than red, it is more realistic than purple. It is volatile, optimistic, and affectionate, creating a feeling of satisfaction & self-respect, while being imaginative, outrageous, and innovative as well, all along. Magenta is the color of ‘new age,’ which heals at all emotional levels. With a streak of ‘Futurism,’ it promises future. A strong, deep, complex, and very impressive color, magenta is linked with inspirational thinkers, particularly those who think ahead of time.

In addition, the ‘Color Symbolism of Magenta’ stretches to divinity, love, learning, & nurturing. It can assist people with earthly skills, in fusing with powerful spirituality, and in releasing the past agony & moving forward. The color cleanses a being emotionally and infuses the feeling of self-respect, protection, and self-awareness in self. This color balances emotions by being simultaneously cheering and soothing, thereby controlling over emotional and under emotional conditions. Definitely, despite the complexity of its tones and shading, magenta is a brilliant, versatile color, creating all the magic possible through artistry or otherwise.
